SA240 2 Pole 20kA/40kA Type 2 Surge Protective Device (SPD)
SPD’s are recommended for installations in accordance with 18th edition wiring regulations to protect sensitive and expensive electrical equipment. This range of SPD’s are characterised by a 8/20 current wave, they can prevent the spread of overvoltages in electrical installations and protects equipment connected to it. These surge protector must be replaced if the indicator turns red. They comply with BS EN62643-11.

Caution:
When conducting insulation resistance testing with SPD fitted it is recommended either the earth connection or the plug in cartridges are removed.
If you do not wish to remove the cartridges or earth connection, then testing must be a maximum of 250V DC.
